Project Overview
A storage system that could grow with the business
Titan Freight provides end to end freight forwarding and logistics services, from air, sea and road freight through to warehousing and supply chain solutions.
With an operation built around moving goods efficiently, having the right warehouse infrastructure is essential.
Working with Used Racking UK, Titan Freight required a pallet storage solution that could provide immediate capacity while allowing the system to grow as the operation developed.
The project was therefore delivered in two phases, creating a flexible storage system designed around the way the warehouse operates.
The Solution
Phase 1 | Getting started
The first phase comprised a single 11 bay run of Used AR pallet racking, standing 5m high and 900mm deep, with two storage levels per bay.
Designed around UK standard pallets, each storage level provides 2,000kg capacity, creating a straightforward and robust foundation for Titan Freight's warehouse operation.
Phase 2 | Expanding the system
With the initial system in place, Titan Freight then expanded its storage capacity.
Working from the warehouse layout, roof line and pallet requirements, Used Racking UK supplied and installed a further 41 bays of pallet racking, using a combination of 5m and 4.3m high frames.
The additional installation comprised:
10 single sided bays at 4.3m high
20 bays in a double sided run at 5m high
6 single sided bays at 5m high
5 single sided bays at 4.3m high
Each configuration was designed around two beam levels, making effective use of the available warehouse height while working within the existing roof line.
The project also included the relocation of beam levels on the original racking, ensuring the existing installation continued to work safely alongside the new system.
Plant, load signage, locking pins, shims and floor fixings were also included, providing everything required for a complete installation.
The Result

Across two phases, Used Racking UK delivered 52 bays of pallet storage, creating additional capacity while allowing the system to develop alongside Titan Freight's requirements.
The combination of 4.3m and 5m high frames was carefully configured around the warehouse's existing roof line, while adjustments to the original racking ensured the new and existing systems worked together effectively.
By delivering the project in stages, Titan Freight was able to establish its initial storage infrastructure before expanding the system as its requirements grew.
