Project Overview
Creating capacity for a growing operation
When a specialist manufacturer of hygiene and chemical products needed additional warehouse storage, the brief was straightforward: create more capacity, make the most of every level and build a system that could support the operation as it grows.
The warehouse required a practical and flexible storage solution that could provide additional capacity while making effective use of the available space.
Working with Used Racking UK, the client needed a pallet racking system that could adapt as its requirements developed.
The Solution
A system that evolved with the requirement
Used Racking UK supplied, delivered and installed a Used Link 51 pallet racking system, creating a flexible storage solution tailored to the requirements of the warehouse.
The main installation comprised 39 frames, standing 4.5m high and 1.1m deep, with 96 pairs of 2.3m beams, each rated to 2,500kg per pair.
As the project developed, the client's requirements expanded. A further 12 frames at 3m high and 21 pairs of 2.3m beams were added, alongside three additional 6m high frames.
This meant the system could grow alongside the operation, adding capacity where it was needed rather than requiring a completely new storage solution.
Every level was decked to create practical storage surfaces throughout the installation. New 32mm decking boards were supplied across the system, subject to the specified reduction in levels.

The completed installation provides a robust and adaptable pallet racking system designed around the client's evolving storage requirements.
With 54 frames ranging from 4.5m to 6m high, the system makes effective use of the available warehouse space while providing additional storage capacity across multiple levels.
The ability to expand the original requirement during the project also meant the final installation could better reflect the needs of the operation, providing additional storage where it was required.
The result is a flexible warehouse storage solution that can support the client's current requirements while providing the capacity and adaptability needed as the business continues to grow.
