Storage behind the scenes
Display Box specialises in helping collectors showcase their prized possessions, supplying premium modular display cases for everything from LEGO® and statues to figures and other collectables. As the exclusive UK & EU distributor for Moduspace, presentation is quite literally their business.
But behind the displays, there is another side to the operation: getting the right stock stored efficiently and safely.
Display Box needed additional pallet storage to make better use of its warehouse space, while working within the existing layout and making use of equipment already on site.
Working with Used Racking UK, the brief was to create a practical storage solution that could fit around the warehouse rather than forcing the existing space to work around the racking.
The Solution
Designed around the warehouse
Used Racking UK supplied and installed 20 bays of used pallet racking, configured across four separate runs to suit the layout of Display Box's warehouse.
The four runs comprise 6, 2, 7 and 5 bays, with frames ranging from 5m to 6.45m high and depths of 900mm and 1,100mm.
Eight bays provide 2,667mm clear entry, while a further twelve bays provide 2,250mm clear entry, with all bays configured across four storage levels.
The installation was completed with timber decking throughout, alongside racking protection to every upright and load signage, creating a robust and clearly organised storage system.
We also incorporated 32 pairs of the client's existing beams into the 900mm deep bays, making use of equipment already on site and integrating it into the new installation.
The Result
Making the most of the space available
The completed installation provides Display Box with additional pallet storage while working around the existing warehouse layout.
By splitting the racking across four separate runs, the system makes effective use of the available space while maintaining practical access throughout the warehouse.
The integration of the client's existing beams also allowed usable equipment already on site to become part of the new installation, helping create a cohesive storage solution tailored to the operation.
The result is a practical, high capacity system that keeps stock organised, accessible and ready to support the business behind the scenes.
