Making every metre count
When Black Lines Drinks needed to maximise storage within a long, narrow warehouse space, the challenge was simple: make every metre count.
With a footprint of just 24m × 7m and only 3.7m of headroom, the available space presented clear limitations. The solution needed to increase pallet storage while retaining enough room for the operation to function effectively.
Working with Used Racking UK, Black Lines required a high density storage system designed specifically around the available footprint.
The Solution
High density storage within a compact footprint
Used Racking UK supplied, delivered and installed a Mecalux Push Back Racking System, configured specifically around the available space.
The finished installation comprises 15 lanes across 2 levels, with pallets stored 4 deep to maximise the available storage density.
Despite the restricted headroom and narrow footprint, the system provides substantial additional pallet capacity while retaining a practical marshalling area for the day to day operation.
The push back configuration allows the available space to be used efficiently without requiring the footprint of a conventional pallet racking layout.

The completed system makes efficient use of Black Lines Drinks' long, narrow warehouse, turning a challenging footprint into a high density storage area.
By storing pallets four deep across 15 lanes and two levels, the installation provides significantly greater storage capacity within the existing space.
